ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — When you check in to vote, you may see poll workers handwriting your name on a numbered sheet. That sheet is called a “Numbered List of Voters.” Under State Election Board Rule 183-1-12-.02, it is defined as numbered sheets where workers enter each voter’s name at the time and in the order voters receive ballots. Full election results hereCounties already check voters in electronically. The handwritten list creates a paper record of the same event, who appeared to vote , that can be used to audit participation counts. Election officials say the list tracks that you voted, not how you voted. It does not record the choices marked on your secret ballot. Full election day coverage from Atlanta News FirstUnder Georgia Code § 21-2-225, voter lists showing who voted are available for public inspection. Ballot choices remain secret under law.
